Panthers Sweep La Cité for Dominant Home Victory

NORTH BAY, ON — The Canadore Panthers women's volleyball team turned in a complete performance on Sunday afternoon, sweeping the La Cité Coyotes in straight sets (25–15, 25–22, 25–16).

With balanced offense, sharp serving, and steady defense, Canadore (1–2) hitting .273 as a team and controlling the match from start to finish.

Leading the attack, Kassidy Dyer paced the Panthers with 7 kills on a .357 hitting percentage, adding 2 service aces and 4 digs for a team-high 9.0 points. Kate McKenzie was equally efficient, tallying 5 kills on a .500 clip and matching Dyer with 2 aces, while Delainee Rogers contributed 4 kills, 2 aces, and 1 solo block to round out a strong all-around performance.

Setter Reece Sommerfeld orchestrated the offense beautifully, dishing out 21 assists and adding 2 aces of her own. Her steady distribution helped five different Panthers register multiple kills in the win.

At the net, Elise Churman (7 kills), and Emily Peltier (3 kills on .500 hitting) provided steady production, while the Panthers' backcourt—anchored by Peyton Smith with 6 digs and McKenzie with 7—kept La Cité's attackers in check.

Canadore's served game proved to be a difference-maker, as the Panthers registered 9 aces compared to La Cité's 4, while also committing fewer errors from the line. The defensive effort was equally sharp, holding La Cité to a negative hitting percentage (-.014) over three sets.

With the win, Canadore 1–2 looks to carry the momentum into their next matchup as OCAA play continues.
