Panthers Men’s Volleyball 3–0 Sweep over La Cité

NORTH BAY, ON — The Canadore Panthers men's volleyball team continued their strong early-season form with a dominant straight-sets victory over the La Cité Coyotes (25–22, 25–21, 25–20) on Sunday afternoon.

Behind an efficient offensive performance and consistent serving, Canadore (1–0) set the tone early and never looked back, hitting an impressive .286 as a team while holding La Cité to just .185.

Mason Begg and Kahled Bryant powered the Panthers' balanced attack, each recording 11.0 points in the win. Begg led the team with 10 kills on a .389 hitting percentage, adding 1 ace and 7 digs, while Bryant was unstoppable at the net, hitting .538 with 7 kills, 2 aces, and 2 solo blocks.

Gavin Kroes and Sean Malherbe also made big contributions up front, combining for 13 kills on strong efficiency, while setter Spencer Corston anchored the offense with 23 assists and 1 ace. Corston's precise distribution kept La Cité's blockers guessing and allowed multiple Panthers hitters to find their rhythm.

Frist year setter Denis Lapos came off the bench and provided an immediate spark, adding 9 assists, 1 ace, and 2 kills on 1.000 hitting in limited action.

Canadore also made an impact from the service line, recording 9 aces as a team, while their backcourt defense—led by Ethan Israelstam's 8 digs and Bryant's 4 digs—kept rallies alive and limited La Cité's scoring runs.

With the victory, the Panthers 2–1 look to continue building momentum as OCAA conference play heats up.
