Panthers Add Versatile 6’8” Forward Lamine Bakayoko

NORTH BAY, ON – Canadore College Men's Basketball Head Coach Bill Crowdis is excited to announce the commitment of Lamine Bakayoko, a 6'8" forward from Senegal who most recently competed at CODE Academy and Cambridge Prep in Whitby, Ontario.

Bakayoko brings outstanding versatility to the Panthers' frontcourt. A skilled playmaker with excellent footwork, he has the ability to rebound, push the ball in transition, and create opportunities for teammates. Defensively, he embraces the challenge of guarding the opposition's top player and has the size, mobility, and competitiveness to make an impact on both ends of the floor.

"Lamine is the type of player who fills the stat sheet without always needing the ball," said Head Coach Bill Crowdis. "At 6'8", he has guard skills, can handle the basketball, rebound, make plays for others, and defend multiple positions. As he continues to develop his decision-making and consistency as a shooter, his ceiling is extremely high. We believe he has all the tools to become one of the top players in the OCAA."

Known for his humble attitude and willingness to learn, Bakayoko is committed to improving every day.

"I'm a very humble guy. I listen, I want to learn, and I want to be very successful. I'm excited to join Canadore and do whatever it takes to help the team win."

Bakayoko is expected to make an immediate impact for the Panthers this season, adding size, athleticism, versatility, and a team-first mentality to Canadore's rapidly growing roster.
