Canadore Panthers Welcome Two-Way Guard Marquel Ward
NORTH BAY, ON – Canadore College Men's Basketball is proud to announce the commitment of Marquel Ward, a dynamic 6'4" guard from Tri-City Prep, to the Panthers for the upcoming OCAA season.
Ward arrives at Canadore eager to continue growing both academically and athletically in an environment that will challenge him to reach his full potential.
"My goal is to keep improving every day, compete at a high level, help my team win, and continue developing as both a student and player. I'm excited for the opportunity to be part of a program where I can gain experience, keep growing, and prepare myself for whatever comes next."
A versatile two-way guard, Ward brings size, athleticism, toughness, and a relentless work ethic to the Panthers. He thrives in transition, attacks the rim with confidence, finishes through contact, plays above the rim, and takes pride in making an impact on the defensive end. With his ability to rebound, push the pace, and create opportunities for himself and his teammates, Ward is capable of influencing the game in a variety of ways.
His play speaks for itself. Ward is an incredibly efficient scorer, shooting over 60% from the field and 40% from beyond the arc, while consistently producing strong rebounding and playmaking numbers. He is the definition of a complete team player who impacts winning without needing the ball in his hands every possession.
"Marquel is the type of player we're excited to build with," said Head Coach Bill Crowdis. "He brings great size for a guard, competes on both ends of the floor, and plays the game the right way. His efficiency, versatility, and defensive intensity make him another outstanding two-way addition to our program. We believe his best basketball is still ahead of him, and we're looking forward to helping him reach that potential here at Canadore."
Ward's commitment adds another talented piece to an exciting recruiting class as the Panthers continue building a culture centered on player development, accountability, and competing every day.
Welcome to the Panther Family, Marquel!
