Men’s Basketball Welcomes Ottawa Sharpshooter Cole Cochran
North Bay, ON - The Canadore Panthers Men's Basketball program is excited to announce the commitment of Cole Cochran, a 6'2" guard from Almonte, Ontario, for the 2026-27 season.
Cochran joins the Panthers following an outstanding high school and club basketball career with Almonte District High School and the Brockville Blazers Elite U19 program. Known as one of the top shooters in the Ottawa area, Cochran earned the prestigious Ottawa Sharpshooter Award and established himself as a dynamic offensive threat.
A four-time High School MVP, Cochran averaged 24 points per game while knocking down an impressive four three-pointers per contest during his senior season. He recently showcased his scoring ability with a remarkable 45-point performance. Beyond his offensive production, Cochran has been a captain for both his high school and club teams over the past four years, demonstrating leadership, character, and a commitment to winning.
"I'm excited to make an impact as a Canadore Panthers," said Cochran. "I take pride in playing at my own pace, creating opportunities for my teammates, and being a leader on and off the court. Shooting has always been a strength of my game, and I'm looking forward to bringing my experience, leadership, and competitive mindset to the next level."
Head Coach Bill Crowdis believes Cochran's skill set and leadership qualities will make an immediate impact on the Panthers program.
"Cole is a proven scorer and one of the best shooters in Eastern Ontario," said Crowdis. "His ability to stretch the floor immediately at the OCAA level is something that will have a major impact on our offense. Defenses have to account for him the moment he crosses half court, and that creates opportunities for everyone around him.
What stands out even more than his shooting ability is his leadership. Cole has been entrusted to lead both his high school and club programs for years, and that speaks volumes about his character. He has a great feel for the game, plays with confidence, and consistently makes the players around him better. We are excited to welcome Cole and his family to the Canadore Basketball program."
Cochran becomes another key addition to the Panthers' 2026 recruiting class as Canadore continues to build a competitive roster focused on skill, character, leadership, and long-term success.
Welcome to Canadore, Cole!
